Project Overview
Angel Gardens is a landmark 35-storey mixed-use residential development located within Manchester’s vibrant NOMA district. Designed to redefine modern urban living, the development integrates premium residential accommodation with high-quality landscaped public spaces and a wide range of resident amenities.
The landscape design plays a central role in shaping the identity of the development by creating attractive outdoor environments that promote community interaction, wellbeing, and sustainable urban living. Through a carefully planned combination of public plazas, communal gardens, roof terraces, and pedestrian-friendly spaces, the project delivers a vibrant and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Landscape Design
The landscape masterplan was developed to establish a seamless connection between the surrounding urban environment and the residential community. A hierarchy of outdoor spaces creates a balance between active social areas and quieter private gardens, allowing residents to enjoy a variety of recreational and relaxation experiences throughout the development.
High-quality hardscape materials, feature paving, integrated seating, architectural lighting, and diverse planting palettes contribute to an attractive public realm while enhancing the overall character of the neighbourhood. Heritage & Placemaking
The design acknowledges the site’s industrial heritage through carefully integrated landscape features inspired by the former Shudehill Mill. Heritageinspired paving, interpretive elements, and public art celebrate Manchester’s rich history while creating a unique sense of place and identity for the development. Sustainability
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the landscape design. The project incorporates biodiverse planting, roof gardens, native tree species, sustainable drainage principles, and climate-responsive landscape solutions to improve environmental performance while creating comfortable and resilient outdoor spaces.
The landscape strategy enhances biodiversity, supports urban ecology, improves stormwater management, and contributes to healthier living environments for residents.
