Etihad Rail Network – Admin Building (National Operations Control Centre)

The Etihad Rail Network Admin Building forms the administrative heart of the Main Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Centre at Al Faya, Abu Dhabi, serving as the National Operations Control Centre (NOCC) for the UAE’s railway network. The facility oversees rail operations across the country’s freight and future passenger network, supporting one of the UAE’s largest infrastructure programmes.

Project Overview.

The development is part of the Etihad Rail National Railway Network, a strategic infrastructure initiative connecting major cities, industrial zones, logistics hubs and ports throughout the United Arab Emirates.

The Al Faya complex includes administration facilities, operations control, locomotive and wagon maintenance, warehousing, equipment storage and supporting infrastructure required for nationwide railway operations.

The landscape strategy complements the contemporary architecture by creating a professional and functional campus environment. Landscaped arrival areas, pedestrian circulation routes, shaded outdoor spaces and integrated planting improve the experience for employees and visitors while responding to Abu Dhabi’s desert climate. Sustainable planting and durable landscape materials contribute to long-term operational efficiency and reduced maintenance requirements.

Designed to support continuous 24-hour railway operations, the project integrates landscape architecture with transport infrastructure to create a resilient, efficient and visually cohesive administrative campus.

The development reflects the UAE’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure, operational excellence and modern transportation systems under the national rail programme.
